SUPPORTIVE HOUSING

Tahanan was completed in 2021. It offers 145 supportive SRO units for formerly unhoused individuals. It is constructed modulary and was fabricated, finished and furnished offsite. It is GreenPoint Rated Gold and includes strategic cultural references and imagery that informed design elements and highlights the SOMA Pilipinas Cultural District that the building is within.

Contribution: Within this project my specific role was design development of the exterior perforated rain-screen facade that wraps the southwest corner of the building and is strategically placed on all faces of the envelop to cover mechanical openings. I generated the perforation script in Rhino3D and Grasshopper and incorporated texture into Revit and Lumion for final visuals and renderings. Production of the final screen and prototypes by BOK Modern in San Francisco.
